DESCRIPTION: This course covers the uses and concepts associated with the use of the ASP Tactical Extendable Baton. Students are taught through not only the use of classroom instruction, but also through hands-on practical scenarios.
AGE: ASP International offer this certification to Law Enforcement and non-sworn Security Officers 18 y/o and older.
ASP Training is a service that we provide, not a profit center from which we benefit. Conducted on seven continents, the techniques are universal. The curriculum is constant. The instruction is dynamic.
Each officer completing ASP training will endure the most rigorous curriculum of its type in the world. This is a program for the street officer. Easy to learn. Effective when used. Defensible in court. ASP techniques are designed to work for all officers, not just those with a high level of physical skill. These are honest techniques. Over a decade of experience has proven that they work on the street, not just in the ideal environment of a classroom or gymnasium.
Simple to learn and easy to remember. ASP techniques will be used long after training has ended.
The Trainers
ASP training is the most widely utilized baton program in the profession. All ASP Trainers are experienced law enforcement personnel, not civilian martial artists. Each Trainer is selected based upon their operational experience and training competence. Each has completed a rigorous competency based certification process in both operational use of the ASP Baton and ASP instructional techniques.

DESCRIPTION: This course covers the uses and concepts associated with the use of the Oleoresin Capsaicin Aerosol Spray - commonly known as Pepper Spray. Students are taught through not only the use of classroom instruction, but also through hands-on practical scenarios and feeling the effects of the spray.
AGE: Certification to Law Enforcement and non-sworn Security Officers 18 y/o and older
This program is designed to "Train and Certify" law enforcement, corrections, sheriffs, constables, and security, personnel in the safe, correct, and legal use of OC.
This training teaches an officer how to use OC in a safe and reliable manner. After successful completion of both practical and written tests, the officer is certified in its proper use for a two (2) year period.
For many years, OC products have proven to be a very effective tool for managing resistive, aggressive, and violent persons. OC has demonstrated it's ability to gain compliance from most subjects in a safe and efficient manner. Many departments and agencies have noted less "Use-of-Force" complaints filed against them, since issuing OC products to their personnel, than they had before OC was put into service. While OC is not a "cure all," it is a valuable tool that provides an addition "non-injurious" level of force for law enforcement professionals.
Why should someone become certified?
Not being certified in the use of OC is a major liability concern, for anyone using OC while on duty. It is highly recommended that anyone carrying OC while "on duty" be certified in the use of OC. This insures, among other things, that the officer know how to use OC correctly, and also the proper "after use" guidelines to maintain officer and subject safety. Whenever someone has questions about an officer using OC properly, one of the first things that is asked is "Can I see this officer's OC certification papers and his/her other training records?"
